Adoption Process

    Get to know it in few steps

    1.

    Choose a representative

    A lawyer specialized in adoptions, adoption agency, Central Authority or competent authority in the case of international adoptions.

    2.

    Formal adoption request

    We collect all the documents that are required to us and file the formal request to start the adoption process, no matter if it is domestic or international.

    3.

    Pre-assignment of the minor

    The National Council for Children and Adolescents (CONANI) will be based on different criteria to assign a child or adolescent to the family that is the candidate for adoption.

    4.

    Administrative phase

    We work together with the National Council for Children and Adolescents (CONANI) during the different stages included in this phase. From the period of socialization, to living together and monitoring the child after joining the family.

    5.

    Jurisdictional phase

    We request the approval of the adoption before the civil court of the corresponding Court of Children and Adolescents, and the supporting documents of suitability to obtain the adoption judgment.

    6.

    Civil/official registration

    We request the transcription of the judgment and request the new birth certificate of the child.

    7.

    Migration processes

    In cases of international adoptions, we request the child’s passport and we guide you to carry out the medical examination and the final interview at the consulate of your country of origin. Thus, we can obtain the minor’s visa.
